How to Soothe Inflamed Taste Buds

Swollen or inflamed taste buds are very common and can be caused by different factors like burning your tongue, consuming spicy, acidic, or sour foods and drinks or having allergies. If you have inflamed taste buds, you can’t enjoy your food and face difficulty to sense the taste of food.

Don’t worry about your inflamed taste buds anymore. There are many ways to soothe your inflamed taste buds and get quick relief. But if it doesn’t heal within 2 to 3 days then you should consult your doctor.

Mix salt in warm water completely. Take a big sip of this salty water, gargle for a minute and throw it out. Repeat this method until your taste buds feel better. Salts have anti-inflammatory properties, it will help to sooth your taste buds.

You also use salty water for gargles. You should take painkillers like Ibuprofen and paracetamol for treatment of inflamed taste buds. Must take care of the hygiene of your mouth, avoid alcohol, sugary drinks and foods that cause inflammation. Try to eat soft and creamy foods. It will soothe your taste buds and use coconut oil and swish it between your teeth. It gives you relief from pain. Follow some precautions like brush your teeth and floss twice a day to remove remaining food particles, drink plenty of water and stay hydrated, avoid too hot and too cold items, use proper meditation and treatment of acid reflux and avoid smoking because it causes inflammation of taste buds and pain in your mouth.
